Passengers traveling with Air Canada are welcome to bring the following:

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers may bring one standard carry-on bag and one personal item.

Standard Carry-on Bag

Bag size limit: 55 × 40 × 23 cm

Must fit in the overhead compartment.

Personal Item

Examples: laptop bag, handbag, small backpack. Must fit under the seat in front of you.

Note: Some Economy Basic fares on selected routes may include only a personal item. A full-size carry-on bag may not be included for free.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage varies by route and fare type, but these are the usual standards:

Economy Class

• 1 bag, up to 23 kg (50 lb)

• Maximum size: 158 cm (total length + width + height)

Premium Economy

• 1–2 bags, each up to 23 kg, depending on fare and route

• Same maximum size: 158 cm

Business Class / Signature Class

• 2–3 bags, each up to 32 kg (70 lb)

• Maximum size: 158 cm per bag

General Rules

• No checked bag may exceed 32 kg

• Items larger than 158 cm are considered oversized and may incur additional fees

Extra Baggage

Additional charges apply if:

• You check more bags than your allowance

• A bag weighs over 23 kg (in Economy or Premium Economy)

• A bag is oversized (over 158 cm total dimensions)
