Cancellation and Refund Policy

Air France provides flexible cancellation and refund options, ensuring convenience for its passengers. Below are the key points of their policy:

Cancellation Policy

24-Hour Cancellation Rule

Passengers who cancel their ticket within 24 hours of booking can receive a full refund, provided the flight date is at least 7 days away.

Non-Refundable Tickets

Beyond the 24-hour window, non-refundable fare types (such as “Light” or deeply discounted economy tickets) typically do not allow a refund of the base fare. In such cases, the value may be retained as a travel voucher or e-credit, minus any applicable cancellation fee.

Refundable Tickets

Fare types designated as “Flex” or fully refundable (commonly Premium Economy, Business or First Class with flexible terms) may be canceled at any time before departure for a full refund to the original payment method, subject to the ticket’s fare conditions.

How to Cancel

Log in to Manage Booking on the Air France website or mobile app and select the flight you wish to cancel.

Alternatively, contact Air France customer service or the travel agency through which the ticket was purchased.

Confirm the fare conditions (refundable or non-refundable) before cancellation.

Refund Policy

Eligible Refunds

Refunds for eligible tickets are processed back to the original form of payment. Credit card refunds generally take 7–10 business days, though times may vary by region and banking institution.

Baggage Fees & Additional Charges

If Air France cancels the flight: You are entitled to a full refund for unused flight segments, and may choose re-routing or a voucher; any prepaid baggage fees are included.

If you cancel voluntarily: Prepaid baggage fees and ancillary fees may not be refundable, unless explicitly stated in the fare rules.

Additional Points

Submission of refund requests must be made through the issuer of the ticket (Air France or authorised agent).

Unused segments of the ticket can be refunded or credited, depending on the fare conditions and timing of cancellation.

Fare rules vary significantly by route (short-haul vs long-haul) and class of service; always review the specific fare conditions printed on your ticket.
