Passengers travelling with Finnair from Kansai International Airport (KIX) are permitted to carry the following:

Each passenger departing from Kansai International Airport may bring one cabin bag in Economy Class with a maximum weight of 8 kg (17 lbs). The bag must not exceed 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm and must be placed in the overhead compartment.

Passengers in Business Class may bring two cabin bags within the same size and weight limits.

One personal item such as a handbag, laptop bag, or small backpack is also permitted and must fit under the seat in front.

All cabin baggage must pass security screening at Kansai International Airport. Items exceeding permitted limits are required to be checked into the hold and may incur additional charges.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage allowance for Finnair flights departing from Kansai International Airport is based on fare type and travel class:

• Economy Light: No checked baggage included
• Economy Classic/Flex: 1 piece up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Business Class: 2 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs)

Each checked bag must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in total linear dimensions.

The maximum weight per single bag is 32 kg. Items exceeding this limit require repacking before acceptance.

Passengers must ensure baggage matches the allowance shown on the ticket before arriving at Kansai International Airport. Excess baggage is subject to additional charges.

Extra Baggage

Additional baggage allowance may be purchased in advance through Finnair’s website or booking channels. Prepaid options apply lower rates than airport charges.

Excess baggage fees apply when the number of pieces, weight, or size exceeds the permitted allowance. Charges vary by route and excess amount.

Special baggage such as sports equipment and musical instruments departing from KIX may require prior approval and may incur handling fees.
