Jetstar Airways Baggage Allowance

Passengers travelling with Jetstar Airways from Kansai International Airport (KIX) are permitted to carry the following:

Each passenger departing from Kansai International Airport may bring one main cabin bag with a maximum weight of 7 kg (15 lbs). The bag must not exceed 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm and must be stored in the overhead compartment.

Passengers may also carry one small personal item such as a handbag, laptop case, or compact backpack that fits under the seat in front.

Passengers who have purchased a higher fare bundle may be permitted a combined cabin baggage allowance of up to 14 kg, subject to airline conditions.

All carry-on baggage must pass security screening at Kansai International Airport. Items exceeding permitted limits must be checked into the aircraft hold and may incur additional charges.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage for Jetstar Airways flights departing from Kansai International Airport is not included in basic fares and must be purchased separately:

• Starter Fare: No checked baggage included
• Starter Plus / Flex Bundles: 20 kg to 30 kg checked baggage depending on fare selection
• Business Class: 30 kg to 40 kg checked baggage depending on route

Passengers may check multiple pieces within the total purchased weight.

Each checked bag must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in total linear dimensions.

The maximum weight per single bag is 32 kg. Items exceeding this limit must be repacked before acceptance.

Passengers must ensure baggage matches the purchased allowance before arriving at Kansai International Airport. Excess baggage is subject to additional charges.

Extra Baggage

Additional baggage allowance may be purchased in advance through Jetstar Airways’ website or customer service channels. Prepaid rates are lower than airport charges.

Excess baggage fees apply when total weight exceeds the permitted allowance. Charges vary based on route and excess kilograms.

Special items such as sports equipment and musical instruments departing from KIX may require prior approval and may incur handling fees.
