Passengers travelling with Lufthansa from Kansai International Airport (KIX) are entitled to the following baggage provisions:

Carry-on Baggage

Each passenger departing from Kansai International Airport may bring cabin baggage according to travel class:

• Economy Class: 1 cabin bag up to 8 kg (17 lbs)
• Premium Economy Class: 1 cabin bag up to 8 kg (17 lbs)
• Business Class: 2 cabin bags, each up to 8 kg (17 lbs)
• First Class: 2 cabin bags, each up to 8 kg (17 lbs)

Each cabin bag must not exceed 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm and must be stored in the overhead compartment.

One personal item such as a handbag, laptop case, or small backpack is permitted and must fit under the seat in front.

All cabin baggage must comply with security screening regulations at Kansai International Airport. Items exceeding permitted limits must be checked in and additional charges apply.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage allowance for Lufthansa flights departing from Kansai International Airport follows the piece concept:

• Economy Class: 1 piece up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Premium Economy Class: 2 pieces, each up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Business Class: 2 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs)
• First Class: 3 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs)

Each checked bag must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in total linear dimensions.

The maximum permitted weight per bag is 32 kg. Bags exceeding this weight must be repacked before acceptance.

Passengers must ensure baggage complies with the allowance stated on the ticket prior to arrival at Kansai International Airport. Excess baggage is subject to additional charges.

Extra Baggage

Additional baggage allowance can be purchased in advance through Lufthansa’s website, service centers, or ticket offices.

Excess baggage fees apply when the number of pieces, size, or weight exceeds the permitted allowance. Charges are calculated based on route and excess amount.

Special items such as sports equipment and musical instruments departing from KIX require prior approval and may incur handling fees.
