Passengers traveling with Malaysia Airlines are welcome to bring the following:

Carry-on Baggage

• Economy Class: 7 kg (1 piece)

• Business & First Class: 14 kg (1–2 pieces, depending on aircraft)

• Maximum dimensions: 56 cm × 36 cm × 23 cm per piece.

A small personal item (handbag, laptop, or duty-free items) is allowed in addition to cabin baggage.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Weight Concept (Most International Routes)

• Economy Class: 30 kg

• Business Class: 40 kg

• First Class: 50 kg

Piece Concept (Some Routes, including certain regional flights)

• Economy: 1–2 pieces, max 23 kg per piece

• Business: 2 pieces, max 32 kg per piece

• First Class: 3 pieces, max 32 kg per piece

Passengers should check which concept applies depending on their route.

Extra Baggage

Extra baggage beyond the allowance is charged per kg (weight concept) or per piece (piece concept).

Charges vary by route and can be prepaid online (cheaper) or paid at the airport.

Special Items

Sporting equipment, musical instruments, and pets have separate rules and fees.

Lithium batteries, fragile items, and live animals have restrictions.

Infants (under 2 years)

Usually 10 kg checked baggage plus a foldable stroller or car seat.

Cabin allowance may vary; small personal item only.
