Thai Airways Baggage Allowance

Passengers travelling with Thai Airways from Kansai International Airport (KIX) are permitted to carry the following:

Carry-on Baggage

Each passenger departing from Kansai International Airport may bring one cabin bag with a maximum weight of 7 kg (15 lbs) in Economy Class. The bag must not exceed 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm and must be stored in the overhead compartment.

Passengers in Royal Silk Class and Royal First Class may carry two cabin bags within the same size limits.

In addition, passengers may bring one personal belonging such as a handbag, laptop case, or small backpack that fits under the seat in front.

All carry-on baggage must comply with security screening requirements at Kansai International Airport. Items exceeding permitted limits must be checked into the hold and may incur additional charges.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage allowance for Thai Airways flights departing from Kansai International Airport is based on the piece concept:

• Economy Class: 2 pieces, each up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Royal Silk Class (Business): 2 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs)
• Royal First Class: 2 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs)

Each checked bag must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in total linear dimensions.

The maximum weight per individual bag is 32 kg. Items exceeding this limit must be repacked before acceptance.

Passengers must ensure baggage complies with the allowance stated on the ticket before arriving at Kansai International Airport. Excess baggage is subject to additional charges.

Extra Baggage

Additional baggage allowance may be purchased in advance through Thai Airways’ website or ticket offices. Prepaid rates are lower than airport charges.

Excess baggage fees apply when the number of pieces, weight, or size exceeds the permitted allowance. Charges are calculated based on route and excess amount.

Special baggage such as sports equipment and musical instruments departing from KIX may require prior approval and may incur additional handling fees.
